Crisis Resource Center
When coping with the symptoms of mental illness becomes too much to handle, the Crisis Resource Center (CRC) is there to help. TLS operates the city’s only community-based, 24/7 walk-in mental health crisis center. Once admitted to the CRC, individuals receive the short-term treatment, therapy, medication and care necessary to stabilize and begin to take the next step towards recovery. Consumers are encouraged to develop their own personal recovery plans and upon discharge, are linked to the community resources they will need to continue to thrive. Donor support will make a huge impact for consumers during a time when they are most vulnerable. |
Community Learning Center and Kismet Klub

The Community Learning Center in Milwaukee and the Kismet Klub in Racine offer consumer-driven programming designed to help
individuals overcome the social isolation that so often accompanies mental illness. By actively engaging participants in community events, educational opportunities, field trips, sporting clubs, and a daily meal program, they are more likely to reach a state of stable recovery and thrive in the community. Despite the positive outcomes of social programming, theses types of programs are not funded through any state or county contracts. Given the importance of balancing therapy with social interaction, it is critical we provide these opportunities to those we serve. Donor support is what makes these opportunities possible. |

Outpatient Mental Health Clinics
Oftentimes, a session with a psychiatrist is all that is needed to maintain a healthy state of stable recovery. A quick medicine re-evaluation or therapeutic session can go a long way for an individual who may be on the verge of a psychiatric crisis. Having this resource available to consumers enables them to take charge of their mental health and well-being. TLS operates Outpatient Clinics in both Milwaukee and Racine, serving over 260 consumers each year. However, funding is limited. Medicaid, the primary source of medical insurance for consumers, only partially reimburses psychiatrists for their services, making outpatient mental health clinics difficult to operate. Donor support can greatly impact our ability to sustain this vital program for those we serve. |
